Job Title: Part-Time High School Teacher
Location: Spyrja Academy, 816 W County Line Road, 78130
Reports To: Jourdan Simmang
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time High School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for lesson planning, guiding students through educational activities, and mentoring high school students. This position requires maintaining accurate records, ensuring a clean and organized learning environment, and keeping open lines of communication with students' families. As a mandated reporter, the teacher must adhere to all state laws regarding student safety and well-being. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with educational standards.
- Guide and support high school students in their learning process.
- Provide mentorship and encouragement to students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and performance.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students' families regarding academic progress and concerns.
- Uphold a clean, safe, and organized learning environment.
- Adhere to all state-mandated reporting laws and promptly report any concerns regarding student safety.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and school staff to support student success.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by administration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (preferred).
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience with high school students (preferred).
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Understanding of and adherence to mandated reporting laws.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Part-time position with possibility of becoming full-time.
- Paid training and professional development.
- Opportunities for professional development may be available.
